Daniel Vellou

Daniel Vellou heads the Healthcare department of the CEA-LETI (Laboratoire d'électronique et de technologie de l'information) in Grenoble, France.
He graduated from ENSERG (Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Electronique et Radioelectricité de Grenoble) and began his career as a memory R&D design engineer with EFCIS, moving to analog ASICs product engineering before joining Thomson-CSF Semiconducteurs Specifiques (TCS) as head of the ASIC Libraries group. In 1994 he took the lead of the Microprocessor and Analog business unit with TCS, where he launched the FingerChip(TM) fingerprint product family.
Before joining CEA-LETI in March 2005, as Vice-President Design & Wireless, and in 2010 as Senior VP Marketing & Sales, Daniel Vellou led three start-ups: OMMIC, in the GaAs domain; SOISIC, the SOI design specialist bought by AR; and Europe Technology, a provider of microcontrollers for the automotive industry.
