Alain Pluquet joined bioMérieux in 2010 as Corporate Vice President of the Innovation and
Systems Unit. He is a member of the Executive Committee and has piloted the Innovation
within bioMérieux for more than 6 years. In 2017, he was appointed Head of the Data
He worked previously for the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) where he was successively in charge of several entities for ten years, in the field of technological innovation, serving various industrial sectors (information technologies, health, energy, defense and security, etc.). Before that period, he began his career at CEA by ten years in fundamental particle physics research in international collaborations, in Europe at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and in the US at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab).
Alain Pluquet has a multidisciplinary education. He holds a PhD in particle physics from the Paris University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) and a Master 2 in mathematics and physics (Field-Particles-Matter at UMPC and Ecole Polytechnique). He also received several first prizes from the Paris Music Conservatory (CNSMDP) and graduated from University Paris-La Sorbonne with a Master in Music.
